Deephaven Renovation, Pool and Carport Addition

This pool addition designed by Charles R. Stinson features a cabana with signature vertical “fins” and a trellis-like roof of clear cedar slats. The underside of the house, where three glass-walled bedrooms open out onto the pool area, is also clad in clear cedar. A new spiral staircase connects the expanded outdoor-living space with the house’s upper deck.

Off to the side, a “floating” stepping stone path of limestone and white concrete leads from the new carport (which also houses a ping-pong table) down to the pool and beyond to the backyard with lawn and fire pit. A surround of pine trees provides a sense of privacy and closure for this back yard playground.

The home in its entirety has been featured in Midwest Home magazine and in the book,  "Charles R. Stinson Architects, Compositions in Nature”, a Master Architect Series publication.
